Aimed At?
This course is designed for the person who will be responsible for supervising and managing Confined Space entry where work has already been assessed and classified.
Also, any person who is required to manage a confined space and issue Permits to Work and authorise entry.

Aims & Objectives
To provide delegates with the practical knowledge and skills to supervise or manage safe entry into confined spaces within an industry.
Develop a plan for communication, safe systems, and work methods when working in confined spaces.

Content
- Work with Permit to Work Systems and Control Measures
- Select, install and maintain appropriate control measures, including personal and environmental hygiene.
- Understand the mechanisms of atmospheric testing, monitoring and ventilation procedures.
- Select, as appropriate to the task, gas monitoring and all associated equipment testing, e.g., Air Sets, Harnesses, Winches, etc.
- Understand the need for keeping records of confined space activities
- Select and brief staff at a confined space task site and
- Control them effectively throughout the given task
Achievement
A 3 year MTST certificate of training demonstrating the Delegate has achieved sufficient knowledge and understanding of the safe management of confined space entry.
Delegate Experience & Renewals
Previous experience of confined spaces would be an advantage but it is not essential. Delegates must be physically fit enough to be able to carry out any practical elements the course requires.
PPE Required
Protective footwear and eyewear along with suitable clothing and gloves for the practical session.
