Who is This Course
Aimed At?
It is to train a delegate to be a Designated Person in the workplace where this type of equipment is stored and to be used in an emergency. The delegate should also understand and safely operate an automatic external defibrillator.
This course will give you the confidence to act quickly and effectively. This course will provide successful delegates with the skills to operate an automated external defibrillator (AED) machine effectively.

Aims & Objectives
AEDs (automated external defibrillators) are proven to save lives and are, therefore, an invaluable addition to health and safety provisions for your employees. Once one is installed in your workplace, we highly recommend that you train personnel in its usage.
Our AED Training course teaches the essential skills that an AED operator needs and gives delegates the confidence to know what to do in an emergency.
Defibrillators are very simple to operate, and no previous training is required to attend this course.

- Recap of personal safety
- Assessing the incident and patient
- DRABC check and sending for help
- Defibrillation (recognition of heart rhythms)
- CPR and use of AED on a casualty
- General guidelines for using a defibrillator
- Recording of information
- Handover to the emergency services
Achievement
The Delegate will receive a MTST Certificate which is valid for 3 years.

PPE Required
Delegates must be able to kneel on the floor for the practical element
