Who is This Course
Aimed At?
Personnel who are involved in use of ladders, step ladders and podium steps for access and work of short duration. Typically this would include maintenance operatives and fitters, systems fitters, electricians and installation workers.
Course
Aims & Objectives
Instruct an operator to prepare and safely operate various types of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) and obtain an IPAF MEWP Operator Licence.
At the end of the course, the operator will:
- Be aware of the relevant Health and Safety regulations.
- Be aware of accident prevention and control.
- Be aware of the need for personnel protection.
- Be aware of the need to refer to the machine’s Operating Manual.
- Drive the MEWP safely and manoeuvre the machine as required to position and carry out the required tasks correctly and properly inside and outside a building.

Achievement

Delegate Experience & Renewals
Previous operating or work at height experience would be beneficial but is not essential. As the assembly and use of MEWPs can be physically demanding, users should be physically fit and in good health
PPE Required
Protective footwear, suitable head protection, suitable clothing and gloves, full body harness and restraint lanyard.
Participants can purchase a lite full body harness directly from us for enhanced safety and convenience during the course.
