Who is This Course

Aimed At?

This IPAF powered access training is for operators of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) — categories 3a (static/pusharound boom) and 3b (self-propelled boom) — typically maintenance operatives, fitters, electricians, and installation workers who need to safely prepare, operate, and manoeuvre MEWPs to access work at height.

Course

Aims & Objectives

Instruct an operator to prepare and safely operate various types of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) and obtain an IPAF MEWP Operator Licence.

At the end of the course, the operator will:

  • Be aware of the relevant Health and Safety regulations.
  • Be aware of accident prevention and control.
  • Be aware of the need for personnel protection.
  • Be aware of the need to refer to the machine’s Operating Manual.
  • Drive the MEWP safely and manoeuvre the machine as required to position and carry out the required tasks correctly and properly inside and outside a building.

Achievement

A 5 year IPAF card accessed through the iPAL app, an electronic certificate, guide book and log book

Delegate Experience & Renewals

Previous operating or work at height experience would be beneficial but is not essential. As the assembly and use of MEWPs can be physically demanding, users should be physically fit and in good health

PPE Required

Protective footwear, suitable head protection, suitable clothing and gloves, a full body harness and a restraint lanyard.

Participants can purchase a lite full body harness directly from us for enhanced safety and convenience during the course.
