Who is This Course
Aimed At?
This comprehensive course aims to equip delegates with the essential knowledge and practical experience to carry out workplace first aid. Delegates will learn vital skills by participating in unique practical exercises and scenarios devised by MTST. This course complies with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. ​

Aims & Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Act safely, promptly and effectively during emergencies at work
- Use first aid equipment
- Understand employer duties and legislation
- Maintain first aid records
- Recognise the importance of personal hygiene in first aid procedures.

Content
- Assessing the casualty
- CPR
- Unconsciousness
- Wounds and Bleeding
- Injuries to bones, muscles and joints
- Burns and scalds
- Eye injuries
- Shock
- Poisoning
- Casualties overcome by gas or fumes
- Recognition and treatment of illness
- Transportation of casualties
- Client-specific subjects including diabetes, epilepsy, etc.
Achievement
If successful, the Delegate will receive a MTST Certificate which is valid for 3 years.
Delegate Experience & Renewals
No experience is needed.
It is strongly recommended that Delegates should attend an annual 3 hour First Aid at Work Refresher Course. If this is not required then to continue and renew this qualification learners must attend a First Aid at Work Re-qualification Course within the final 3 months of the 3 year certificate expiry period.
PPE Required
Delegates must be able to kneel on the floor for the practical element
